Ashtanga Yoga Weekend Nikan Ká México

Ashtanga Yoga and Mindfulness

All levels of students are welcome

Step into a refreshing weekend of practice, presence, and gentle detox.
Ashtanga Yoga, meditation, pranayama, temazcal, and stargazing, all surrounded by nature. Nikan Ká is a private sanctuary in Cuernavaca, just an hour from Mexico City.
Through shared practice, deep rest, and connection to the land, we ground ourselves and start the year with intention.

Bárbara Macías

→ has been teaching Ashtanga yoga for fifteen years and has been running a Mysore program in Berlin since 2017. Barbara’s studies include time at KPJAYI in Mysore with Sharath Jois and in Goa with Rolf Naukojat and Sharmila Desai. Her main teachers are Matthew and Carla Vollmer, and she has recently completed mindfulness teacher training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

Nikan Ká

Nikan Ká is a space for rest and renewal, where ancestral wisdom and contemporary practice meet.
Surrounded by lush nature in Morelos and inspired by Aztec cosmology, and nestled in the Magical Energy Triangle of Malinalco, Tepoztéco, and Xochicalco, Nikan Ká blends nature and well-being in a lush tropical setting.

With simple comforts and open spaces, Nikan Ká invites a slower rhythm and a deeper sense of connection.

Temazcal

The Temazcal is an ancestral Mesoamerican ritual of heat, steam, and prayer.
Guided by a local temazcalero, the ceremony takes place inside a dome, using volcanic stones to create warmth and steam. It is traditionally used as a space for cleansing, reflection, and renewal.
This experience will be held by a local group rooted in the tradition.

Stargazing

Guided by two professionals, we will observe the night sky from the rooftop terrace using high-quality telescopes. There will be time to learn about the stars above us, take photographs, and simply enjoy the night.

Food and accommodation

Nikan Ká offers simple, nourishing vegetarian meals prepared with local ingredients.
After morning practice, we gather for a healthy brunch around 11 a.m., followed by an early evening meal.
Meals are prepared by a private chef, and we invite guests to follow this yogic eating rhythm as a gentle way to support digestion, rest, and clarity during the weekend.

Accommodation includes comfortable double rooms and suites.
Each individual or couple has their own private room and bathroom, offering space for rest and quiet.

We offer 9 comfortable en-suite rooms, thoughtfully designed to accommodate up to 18 guests.
